Sarah and Ryan are known as the ‘sporty couple’ within their group of friends- Sarah grew up living and breathing gymnastics, and is now a triathlete, and Ryan also competes in duathons. So it was a no-brainer for these two to include some running and playing around in gym clothes for their engagement shoot. It is SO them and I love when couples really aim to be true to themselves and incorporate something into their engagement shoot that is a reflection of who they are. Even though Sarah and Ryan are athletes, they still clean up well! After a quick outfit change, we hiked around for a bit longer at Webster’s Falls in Dundas and then headed to Village Square in Burlington. Sarah and Ryan were given a very generous gift of wedding photography from their family, so even though I’m sad that I won’t be hanging out with them on their wedding day, I still hope they have the most amazing day!
Enjoy!

Heather + John – Caledon Engagement
Heather and John are seriously two of the sweetest people I have ever met. Not only are they both insanely gorgeous and SO in love, they are quite down to earth and so fun to hang out with (plus, Heather is a trained pilot and she is from NY- basically the coolest girl ever). I met these two a few years ago when John was a groomsmen in one of the very first weddings I ever photographed. Since then, I have kept in contact with Heather over the years via Facebook and was so happy when I ran into her earlier this year. Heather mentioned that she had been meaning to message me about doing some engagement photos for her and John, so we got to talking and made it happen! John’s family owns a farm in Caledon so we did some of their photos in their old barn, and we brought out some vintage (but still working!) tractors and hay bales to hang out on. The property also had 3 trees on it that were in bloom so I made sure to take advantage of them!
I am SO stoked to be joining Heather and John and their closest friends and family for their wedding in Costa Rica in January.
Enjoy!

Helana + Patrick – Ancaster Mill Wedding
Helana and Patrick’s wedding had more laughter and tears than any other wedding I’ve ever photographed. To say that the love and support between each other and from their friends and family could be felt, is more than an understatement. Almost every single speech at the reception brought people to tears. Every part of this day just felt so natural and so them. These two have such a special bond, and its obvious that it can be felt by those around them.
To my two wandering newlyweds- I am so thankful to have been a part of your magical summer!

Stephanie + Chris – Surprise Backyard Wedding, Oakville
I had been looking forward to Stephanie and Chris’ wedding for months. All along, their closest friends and family thought they’d be celebrating their daughter Evi’s 1st birthday, all the while Steph and Chris has been planning to surprise them with a wedding celebration instead. The day turned out beautifully- I am such a fan of these kinds of weddings! Hosted in Steph’s parents’ backyard, the day was thoughtfully planned out and styled by the uber talented KJ & Co, and Hamilton based Niche Catering kept everyone satisfied with their tasty apps. Pretty in Pink did a great job getting Steph’s hair and makeup ready for her big day, and Setting Stylist made sure she had a beautiful bouquet in hand. Steph wore a beautiful cocktail length Alfred Sung dress, and her mint and gold Kate Spade shoes were the inspiration for the colour palette for the whole day. The happy couple opted to do a First Look, which worked out fabulously because it allowed them to get rid of their pre-ceremony jitters, and it gave us the chance to sneak out of the house to do some photos while the guests were arriving. The ceremony was so special- all of their closest friends and family stood and watched in a circle as Steph and Chris said their tearful vows. The look on Chris’ face (and his brother’s!) as Steph was walking towards him says it all! After Evi had her 1st birthday cake smash, the evening was spent outside with cocktails and hilarious speeches, a chandelier twinkling in the trees and lots of kids running around with bubbles. And of course, lots of love!
Steph and Chris- you guys have been some of my biggest supporters over the last few years and I am so, so happy I was there to share your special day. I couldn’t have imagined it any other way!
Enjoy!

Helana + Patrick – Bolton Engagement
Helana and Patrick are to be married this Saturday, and I have been looking forward to their wedding all summer! These two are always up for anything- our engagement session was wonderful and so natural. We went up to one of their favourite hiking spots in Bolton, and then finished off in downtown Bolton. Helana has such a free spirit- she is the kind of girl who would prefer to walk barefoot through the forest, even when the trail gets muddy. Helana and Patrick have been together off and on since they were 14, so it’ll be amazing for their friends and family who have watched their love grow for so long to finally see it all come together at the Ancaster Mill.

Cristina + Scott – Carleton Golf and Yacht Club, Manotick
Cristina and Scott were such a great couple to work with- totally laid back, and they planned their wedding day to reflect just that. Cristina and Scott chose to do a first look, which allowed them to do their photos before the ceremony, leaving them with almost the entire cocktail hour to spend with their guests. The Carleton Golf and Yacht club was the perfect backdrop for their outdoor ceremony, and we really lucked out with some beautiful weather! Next week, they’ll be adding a member to their new family who I can’t wait to meet- a puppy! Cristina and Scott- thank you for inviting me to be a part of your day! And a special thanks to Nadia for coming on an Ottawa adventure to assist me for the day.
Enjoy!

Stephanie + Lance – Downtown Ottawa
Steph and Lance are one more couple that I’ll be making the road trip back to Ottawa for their wedding in September, and I can’t wait! This engagement session had it all- blossoms on the trees, their dog Max that looks just like my dog, and plenty of good old fashioned love! There was even a kite but Lance wasn’t impressed with the idea of ‘pretending’ to fly it near the trees. At the end of our session, we stopped by their very first apartment and took some photos in front of the mural- I was loving all the colours!
Steph and Lance, I can’t wait to be back in a few short months to document your big day. Thanks for having me!
Enjoy!

Cristina + Scott – Ottawa Arboretum
I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Cristina and Scott over the last year, during wedding celebrations for my sister (who is also my fabulous graphic designer and website creator!) so I was honoured when Cristina and Scott approached me about photographing their own wedding. I always love visiting Ottawa, especially now that there are so many familiar faces there! Our shoot was scheduled for such a beautiful time in the spring – tons of blossoms on the trees, and fresh spring colours were popping up everywhere. These two lovebirds will be wed at the Carleton Golf & Yacht Club in just a few short weeks, I can hardly wait!
Enjoy!

Anandi + Sean – Riu Ocho Rios, Jamaica
Anandi and Sean, I am so thankful to have been asked to document your love filled wedding week in Jamaica. This day was so special- we had a spectacular sunset during the ceremony, and your friends and family really made an effort to make it a unique and memorable day. Anandi- you live such an inspired life and everyone knows that there is no stopping you. You are a firecracker with a soft heart, and you made one of the most beautiful brides I have ever had the luck to photograph (seriously- people were stopping us on the resort all day to tell us this). Your laughter is contagious and your zest for life permeates into the lives of your loved ones. Sean, you are the perfect match for Anandi. You are sweet and soft spoken and you emit such a consistent positive energy. Your killer style and spot on Nicolas Cage impressions don’t hurt either! Thank you to your friends and family for welcoming me with open arms. Anandi’s bridesmaid Monisa did a beautiful job of planning and decorating- check out her beautiful website!

Carole + Cory – Elk Lake Eco Centre, Elk Lake
I arrived at Elk Lake Eco Centre after a six hour drive (a beautiful summer sunset and lakes on either side of the road made the time fly!) to find Carole and Cory already celebrating and enjoying time with their friends and family the night before their wedding. Elk Lake Eco Centre proved to be the perfect location for Carole’s dream wedding- a rustic ceremony setting tucked in the trees, fields and horses just a stone’s throw away, and the perfect spot for fireworks over the lake at the end of the night.
Carole has her own photography business in New Liskeard, so I wasn’t surprised to see that every detail had been looked after and carefully planned out. Her gorgeous bouquet was a collection of vintage and gifted brooches (including a special locket honouring Cory’s mother), and she handmade all of the groomsmen’s boutonnieres. Carole and Cory made efforts to make sure that their guests had a great time- they hired two comedians to perform before dinner (and they had everyone in tears) and there was a poutine bar featured at midnight (and lets be honest- any wedding with a poutine bar- or flower girls in tutus- is sure to be fabulous). It was such a pleasure to spend the weekend with such a great group of people.
Carole and Cory- thank you for having me!Enjoy,
